I don't agree with what you say.

Posted by HaniiPuppy Jun. 9, 2008 @ 12:59 PM EDT

(Before you read, see this thread. I know it's not real, but it's got me thinking about stuff)

In the words of Voltaire, "I may not agree with what you say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it."

This most famous phrase doesn't stop at opinions or ideas, it can extend to every part of your life, from your tastes in music, clothes, films, etc. to the habits that you don't feel like stopping.

Incidentally, it also co-incides with the pagan philosophy "Do you what will, as as long as you harm none."

There are far more faces of bigotry than just sexism, racism, etc. - people have been judging what other people are like by their clothes for decades. Just because I wear a hoody doesn't instantly turn me into an future convict who throws bricks through windows for fun, just because wear a skull-pendant doesn't immediately make me a necromancer, you get the idea. So where the hell is all this bullcrap about clothes coming from? One of the clubs near where my dad lives in the town has started banning people from wearing Hoodies or Striped shirts/jumpers because, and i quote, "We find that most of the people who cause the trouble are hoodies and stripeys" (ignore the idiocy in that comment). Now, hands up who can see the utter stupidity in this whole ideal? ... anyone? ... very simply, the people who cause trouble aren't going to stop coming , they're just not going to wear hoodies or striped shirts/jumpers!! Not only that, but it also alienates perfectly good people who do wear hoodies or striped shirts/jumpers. By the year 2020, should all clubs perhaps have strict guidelines commanding you from the high heavens of the club offices that you shouldn't wear any clothes at all? Y'know, since people who commit crimes wear clothes! It's a fiendish ploy! I mean, look at gandhi, he's depicted as wearing barely anything at all. Same with Jesus. (Please, no-one comment about strip-clubs, ok? It just sort-of ruins the whole point)

If i want to wear my hoody, I'll wear my hoody. If i want to wear leather gloves, I'll wear leather gloves, If i want to wear a swastika, by god i'll wear a swastika, as long as I'm not tagging along a portable gas chamber.

Looks like George Orwell's book is simply going to happen around half a century later than he'd expected if we continue down this path.

Oh, and on an unrelated note, i've also added a Song and a Loop.

Live By The Chord (Die By The Chord) (One of the songs that was getting backed up)
Kerior (just a crappy piano loop I decided to write :P)

and the conversation on msn where i got the name "Kerior" from :P

To stop a sucky voice ...

Posted by HaniiPuppy May. 25, 2008 @ 11:05 AM EDT

When i was in the town on saturday, i had an idea, and when i came back home, i tried it out.

I've found a way of keeping my voice from sounding sucky ... and it involves running it through a guitar amp ...

This poses a question ...

Posted by HaniiPuppy May. 20, 2008 @ 12:36 PM EDT

This "Fly" was marked as Ska and got to the first page.
This "This One's For You Jesus" was marked as Ska and got to the first page.
This Travesty only known as "Otaku Speedvibe" was marked as Ska ... and got to the first page ...

This begs the question ... Do most of you even know what Ska IS?!

"Hot Day In July" is Ska, "Harrison Ford Love Tunnel" is Ska, "Dealy Plaza" is Ska, The Yamaguchis' * cover of some crappy random techno song you heard on pop-radio the other day is NOT Ska.

* The Yamaguchis were a band that produced music in Japanese that somehow still sold fairly well in the UK

Patriotism?

Posted by HaniiPuppy May. 14, 2008 @ 7:54 PM EDT

Why do people go oooonnn and ooonnn about patriotism as though it's a good thing? What good is loyalty to some random geographical location where you happen to be born? I mean, doing what you can to help your community is all good and fine, you see people like that all over the planet, helping out different parts of the world, and freedom fighters when a nation is being oppressed, but patriotism, pride in your random spot of dirt, isn't the will to help the people around you, it's just a feeling that gives you a high sense of pride in useless trivia (like "oh, we still have the monarchy, placed there by god himself", or "our national dress consists of psychedelic monkey-suit and a hat so ridiculous that could make a giant pink-polka-dotted sombrero jealous") and an inflamed sense of hatred against anyone who happens to be born on any particular other spot of random dirt.

And now that i've mentioned the monarchy, all these monarchs couldn't have honestly believed they were sent by god! (Monarchy relies on a Royal family that is believed to lead the people to do God's bidding) Saint Joan of Arc and Henry V or VI both believed they were doing God's bidding, but they were fighting each-other. Did Bonnie Prince Charlie and King George II really believe they were obeying God's will by playing a monumental-scale version of Chess? Either the whole idea of religious leadership is completely screwed up and pointless, or there is a god, but he's a sick bastard who delights in the death, misery, and torture of his own creations.

The king is dead, long live the king, and this is the new fascist regime. (see Shakespeare and The Sex Pistols)

Currently Working on:

Posted by HaniiPuppy May. 9, 2008 @ 11:37 AM EDT

Currently working on:

Broken Star
Hippies, Punks, and Goths
Eviscreation Nation
Live By The Chord (Die By The Chord)
Boombada

... I need a better attention span, it seems like just as I'm making great headway with one song, i lose interest and start on another lol. I will finish them though lol, because I'm working on 5 different songs, i have a different one to work on for each mood :P

EDIT: If your wondering why i'm posting news even though i've only had one comment (3 if you include useless spamming idiots), then it's because i'm treating it more like a journal than a news thingy =p i'd just simply keep a journal, but i cba to do that xD

i'm not even religious

Posted by HaniiPuppy Apr. 19, 2008 @ 11:03 PM EDT

why do i refer to religious figures so much? i'm not even religious, i'm agnostic o.o but i guess that makes it perfectly fine for me break religion-specific rules while obeying others ... i could really screw people up xD .... specifically, priests ... what's funner than screwing up priests with bizarre levels of religious devotion? "Forgive me father, for i have sinned" "What have you done, my son" "i have used the toilet" "son, in the eyes of the lord, that is not a sin" "god-damn-it!" ... it could herald a new age of conveniency taken to ridiculous extremes ... instead of wasting time sinning then going to confession, you could just sin AT confession. the same could go for crime and prison, rebellion and discipline, etc. who knows? this time next year, we may have several months free time because of all that time we didn't have to do stuff :D

Tests ...

Posted by HaniiPuppy Mar. 26, 2008 @ 6:33 PM EDT

What's one of the most annoying things that can happen to you?

This morning, i woke up at around 3am. I had this english test to finish off (i was around 1/3 of the way through) and i spent hours typing, checking, and making sure it was good to pass ... then i woke up at 8:25am and realised that didn't actually do it, i just dreamt i did it >.< i wondered why my printer was through here in the bedroom printing off comic strips ...
