I see people who wear shorts in public on american TV, thinking they look amazing and being complimented on them, when the shorts make them look like they're trying to be "that old man who dresses like a 4 year old" or "that annoying loud tourist who thinks people will understand him better if he shouts louder".

I've yet to see an example of someone who suits shorts.
