Just so you know, Classic Rock and Classical Rock are two different genres - Classical Rock is rock that incorporates techniques, sounds, and instruments used in Classical music.

Great song though :D Personally, I'd say just bring the backing guitar, bass, and drums up a bit. Or lower the solo guitar and the vocals.

Here's an idea: After the guitar solo, you could have kept the lead guitar going and accompanying the vocals with another contrasting guitar ... solo ...

Great song :D

Urbanus responds:

Wow thanks for the in depth review. I usually don't get that. I'll take your advice (along with sorohanro's) and see if I can't make it better. Would you mind taking a look at it when I'm done?

Triadalithe

Awesome, great sounding - sounds like real punk.

Only piece of advice I can think of is maybe raise the volume of the vocals when the whole stereo thing's going on.

bullinfield responds:

haha, dont know what you were listening to but cheers dude!

Shazbat

This would be amazing with vocals.

I honestly wish I could give a better review for this, but I can't think of anything I dislike about it.

With vocals, it would be a 10/10 ;)

BERSERKYD responds:

Your right! Vocal always push the song higher !! I must try it out!

Thanks a lot !

Poodles.

Good cover, but I definitely feel it could be improved.

I like the actual guitar sound, but I have two gripes about the guitar: The stops are too sudden and there's not enough dynamics.

I'd suggest using effects on top of the Slayer guitar, instead of relying on the slayer plugin's own effects (apart from a few guitar-specific or slayer-specific effects like tremolo, although I use Guitar Amp Pro on top of it for that). For instance, I have a preset I made I call the Screw Guitar which is the Slayer 2 plugin with Guitar Amp Pro, Stereo Spread, and GoldVerb over the top of it.

Another thing is on small note changes, you could try using a pitchbend to change to the desired note instead of creating a new one - this can make the guitar sound more natural.

Alexman159 responds:

I would do all of this but i can't save anything except note patterns so I'd have to start by remaking this guitar. You see, I have the trial of Fl studios and the only way to save anything is to export an midi file which just remembers the notes not any instruments outside of midi file sounds.

great, but too short

It feels like you just sort of cut it off at the end. In my opinion, you should continue it, It would be amazing as a full-length song.

Arbiter responds:

I am aware of the shortness of the song, I am.
I just felt like there wasn't any good turn I could make for it to have enhanced length, thus ending up as a short song, but know that I will try to submit longer songs in the future, in addition to shorter ones.

Mopeds

He was trying to impersonate a Moped, what else would he be trying to do? :P

beanips13 responds:

as you know from the description this is a contest to see who has the best idea of what he is trying to do. tell your friends about this so they can try to tell me what they think

MOOOOOPPPPPPPEEEEDDDDD

can't really think of much beyond that it's just a tad bit repetitive and and vocals are almost completely drowned out by the instruments and the drums are still kinda quiet. The guitar's too loud. Is this a live recording? If it is, i suggest you get a computer and use a multi-track recorder (ie garageband, and i think audacity can do it, both are free) to record each instrument separately and tweak it, change the volumes, etc.

The guitar almost completely drowns out everything else ...

blood-angel5 responds:

nah its not live, we just had a shitting recording tool we used on my comp. we as a band did recognize the problems but it was just for the demo. we are re-recording it along with the other 3 songs and a few new songs coming soon. but i do appreciate your feedback

lol and one more thing...just remember, its shitty new york hardcore. but thanx again

Great song ^_^

Great song ^_^ although it did seem similar all the way through, have you thought about using both fast and slow tempos as well as varying amounts of intricacy to create mood-changes for the different situations in the song?

I'd say this is more Classical than goth ... doesn't matter if it's dark or not, if it's dark, then it's just dark classical :P

ParishIsDead responds:

Thanks for the criticism! However, the tempos changed minutely back and forth as the song progressed. Especially when the bells sounded.

But I understand the purpose of what you meant. Thanks for the 9!!!

little repetitive

Very good, but it's a little repetitive. Was expecting a hard part to come in - it's just begging for Cavern drums and a distorted guitar playing a slow melody.

Psychopath responds:

I'll see what I can do about that.

Hi-Fi

This sounds amazing on my Hi-Fi

ChucksNation responds:

Awesome :)
